Alarm bells ring for mobile-unfriendly websites

Anita Pava – Sunday, March 29, 2015

Your website lives or dies based on whether Google™ likes what it sees – and things are about to get a little bit tougher.

Google™ has announced that on April 21st they will change their search algorithm and start penalising websites who are not ‘mobile-friendly’. As we know, an increasingly larger proportion of potential or existing customers are accessing the internet on their mobile phones or tablets. This change in Google's algorithm could have a big impact on your website visits by mobile users – and it's only a few weeks away.

For more information, read this article: Google™ gets tough on poor mobile sites.

We’re dedicated to giving our clients better access to specialised online marketing advice, particularly search engine optimisation (SEO). We've partnered with The Website Clinic, to provide you with a 'turn key' solution for your full SEO package – analysis, recommendations, implementation and results.

If you’d like us to analyse your website for mobile-friendliness and whether it complies with the new search algorithm, get in touch as soon as possible.

Backups & upgrades

Do you have a plan in place for regular backups of your website?… Is your website upgraded to the latest version of your content management system (CMS) software? … If your website goes offline, are you notified automatically?

If you cannot answer yes to all of these questions, then we recommend that you do something about it. Having a regular and scheduled backup service of your website, could save you plenty of stress and heartache should something go wrong with your website hosting service.
